IRIDIUM WRAP® is engineered to provide strength that enables a pipe to be restored to maximum allowable operating pressure (MAOP) without system shutdown. The system is comprised of three components, each thoroughly and independently tested. The first component is an epoxy primer, which promotes bonding to the substrate and load transfer from the internal pressure of the infrastructure to the composite repair. The second component is the thoroughly tested bi-directional woven carbon-fiber material, which provides reinforcement in the hoop and axial directions and is the strongest available non-metallic repair material on the market. The third component in the system is the epoxy resin, which allows for uniform loading throughout the entire composite wrap. For repairs that require surfaces to be modified (e.g. heavy corrosion or dents), the Iridium Wrap High Modulus Filler (HMF) can be applied. These components form a composite system that is stronger than steel. The structural system forms a pipe around a pipe, and each successive wrap increases the pressure rating.
IRIDIUM WRAP® requires an engineering assessment to compile service information such as substrate material, wall loss, operating temperature, pressure ranges and environment exposure. Iridium Technologies software analyzes this information to determine the number of wraps required for each pipe repair.

Titanium HydroWrap (THW)

TITANIUM HYDROWRAP® is engineered to provide strength that enables a pipe to be restored to maximum allowable operating pressure (MAOP) without system shutdown. The system is comprised of water curing urethane resin impregnated in a biaxial fiberglass, thoroughly and independently tested. TITANIUM HYDROWRAP® system, is the selection of Biaxial Fiberglass material, which provides reinforcement in the hoop and axial directions and is among the strongest available non-metallic repair material on the market. The second component is the binding force in the system. This system is an impregnated urethane resin, which allows for uniform loading throughout the entire wrap. Our third component, for repairs that require surfaces to be modified (e.g. heavy pitting or irregular shapes); the high modulus filler can be applied. These components form a composite system that is stronger than steel. The structural system forms a pipe around a pipe, and each successive wrap increases the pressure rating. Minimal creep ensures a long service life.

COMPRESSION FILM / PERFORATOR

Heavy gauge film material used to compress all composites during installation. Using IR-COMP film ensures the full strength of the composite around the pipe during the installation. Perforation in the IR-COMP is required to release CO2 gas buildup that occurs during the cure of Titanium HydroWrap.

IRIDIUM PEEL-PLY

Iridium Peel-Ply is a release fabric made of finely woven porous Nylon fabric. It is used to vent excess resin and provide compression around the composite repair and ensures the full strength of the composite around the pipe during the installation. The peel ply can prevent contamination of the repair surface up to the time it is removed. The peel ply should tear a very thin layer of resin from the surface of the composite to create a fresh clean anchor pattern surface ready to paint and avoid sanding.
